The Reform of Touraine, born in XVII century France, is one of the most important developments in the Carmelite Order. Through the Constitutions of 1904 and 1930 and the Directory authored by John Brenninger, its spirituality spread throughout Carmel. The names of the main figures are well known: John of St. Samson and Michael of St. Augustine. Many other writers and and spiritual texts hide a yet to be explored richness. The international on-going formation course will be an occasion to deepen, with the help of experts, one's understanding of the spirituality of Touraine and to have the possibility to read some of the inspiring figures even today of Carmelite life.
