Relazione dal Consiglio Generale (Dicembre 2006) Il Consiglio Generale si è riunito a Roma in assemblea plenaria dall’11 al 19 dicembre 2006. Tra i vari argomenti oggetto di discussione sono stati affrontati i programmi per il Capitolo Generale che si terrà a Sassone dal prossimo 4 al 22 settembre 2007. Il Consiglio ha preso in esame, e susseguentemente approvato, il budget di spesa proposto per il prossimo anno per la Curia e le sue entità, quali il CISA, l’Istituto e la biblioteca carmelitana. Il Delegato del Terz’Ordine ha presentato una bozza del nuovo Rituale, la quale bozza è stata approvata dal Consiglio e quindi verrà inviata alla Santa Sede per conferma. Altro argomento preso in esame è quello del ONG. Vengono illustrati i progressi dell’ONG Carmelitano e viene approvata la struttura proposta di costituire un consiglio esecutivo e rappresentanti regionali. Relazioni dai vari consiglieri sulle loro rispettive attività e visite, p.e. in Vietnam, Kenia e Filippine. Approvati gli atti dei capitoli provinciali delle Province di New York e Irlanda. Il giorno 18 dicembre nella Curia dei Carmelitani Scalzi,si è tenuto un incontro fra i Consiglieri Generali O.Carm. e il Superiore Generale e il Definitorio degli OCD. Gli argomenti trattati sono stati diversi, tra cui una lettera congiunta fra i due superiori per celebrare l’ottavo centenario della Regola, i programmi per le celebrazioni a maggio e settembre 2007, il Dizionario di Spiritualità Carmelitana, le celebrazioni per il quarto centenario della morte di Santa Maria Maddalena de’Pazzi e il lavoro della commissione congiunta O.Carm.-OCD in America Latina. I due Consigli si sono poi ritrovati in un pranzo fraterno al termine dell’incontro. Relación del Consejo General - Diciembre 2006 El Consejo General se reunió en Roma en sesiones plenarias del 11 al 19 de diciembre de 2006. Entre los distintos temas de discusión se trataron los programas para el Capítulo General a celebrar en Sassone del próximo 4 al 22 de septiembre de 2007. El Consejo examinó y aprobó el presupuesto de gastos para la Curia y sus Entidades, tales como el CISA, el Institutum Carmelitanum y la Biblioteca Carmelita. El Delegado para la Tercera Orden presentó el borrador del nuevo Ritual, que fue aprobado por el Consejo y que será enviado a la Santa Sede para su confirmación. Otro tema de examen fue la ONG. Se tomaron en cuenta los progreso de la ONG Carmelita y se aprobó la estructura propuesta para constituir un Consejo ejecutivo y representantes regionales.. Igualmente se trataron las relaciones de los distintos Consejeros en sus respectivas actividades y visitas, p.e. en Vietnan, Kenia y Filipinas. Se aprobaron las Actas de los Capítulos Provinciales de las Provincias de Nueva York e Irlanda. El día 18 de diciembre se tuvo un Encuentro en las Curia de los Carmelitas Descalzos del Prior General y Consejeros Generales O.Carm. y el Prepósito General y Definitorio O.C.D. Los temas tratados fueron diversos: Carta conjunta de los dos Superiores Generales para celebrar el octavo Centenario de la Regla, los programas para la celebración del mismo en mayo y septiembre 2007, el Diccionario de Espiritualidad Carmelita, el Cuarto Centenario de la muerte de Santa María Magdalena de Pazzi y el trabajo de la Comisión consunta O.Carm.-O.C.D en América Latina. Los dos Consejos tuvieron después en una comida fraterna. La próxima sesión plenaria del Consejo General está prevista para el 12 de febrero de 2007.

Among the subjects discussed were the plans for the General Chapter to be held in Sassone from 4 to 22 September 2007. The Council also examined the proposed budgets for the Curia and its dependent bodies, such as CISA, the Institute and the Carmelite Library, and approved them for 2007. The Delegate for the Third Order presented a draft of the new Ritual which was approved by the Council and will now be sent to the Holy See for confirmation. The progress of the Carmelite NGO was also discussed and the Council approved the proposed structure of an executive council and regional representatives. Reports were received from General Councillors on their various activities and visits, for example, to Vietnam, Kenya and the Philippines. The provincial chapter acts were approved for New York and Ireland. On Monday 18 December the members of the General Council had a meeting with the Superior General and Definitory of the Discalced Carmelites in their Curia house. Various topics were discussed including the joint letter from the two superiors to mark the eighth centenary of the Rule, as well as celebrations in May and September 2007, the Dictionary of Carmelite Spirituality, the fourth centenary of the death of St. Mary Magdalen de’Pazzi and the work of the O. Carm./OCD commission in Latin America. The two Councils enjoyed a fraternal lunch together after the meeting. The next plenary session of the General Council begins on 12 February 2007.
