Le Difficoltà nel Congo
I religiosi carmelitani della comunità parrocchiale di Nioka (regione Ituri della Repubblica democratica del Congo) hanno iniziato l’anno 2003 in fuga notturna dalla loro casa, saccheggiata. La comunità è formata dai Padri Mario Serra, François Alirac e Guillaume Parug’a minacciati di morte dai guerriglieri U.P.C. Qualche giorno fa ci è arrivata la notizia che i due padri nativi del Congo hanno potuto rientrare in casa, accompagnati da un delegato del Vescovo e dall’ amministratore civile del territorio, accolti dall’entusiasmo dei fedeli. Altro motivo di speranza è l’iniziativa presa da vescovi dalla fascia orientale del paese unitamente ai superiori religiosi di riunirsi per concordare un piano commune per la pace della zona. Il Padre Provinciale Claudio Bellotti estende l'invito alla preghiera per la nostra comunità di Bunia, la quale si trova in serie difficoltà a causa dell'occupazione della città di Bunia da parte dei ribelli ugandesi. de los carmelitas en el Congo
Los religiosos carmelitas de la comunidad parroquial de Nioka (región de Ituri en la Rep. Democrática del Congo) tuvieron que huir por la noche a través de la maleza debido al saqueo de su casa el día primero del año 2003. El Padre Mario Cera, Fançois Alirac y Guillaume Parug fueron secuestrados y amenazados de muerte por los soldados de la U.P.C. Hemos recibido la noticia hace poco tiempo, ya que los dos Padres nativos del Congo pudieron volver a casa acompañados del Administrador del Obispo y del Delegado civil de la región y recibidos con entusiasmo por los parroquianos. Hay una iniciativa para trabajar por la paz de la región por parte de los Obispos y Superiores Religiosos del Congo. El P. Provincial de la Provincia italiana, Claudio Bellotti, invita a rezar por nuestra comunidad de Bunia (Rep. Dem. Del Congo), la cual se encuentra también en dificultad ante la ocupación de la ciudad de Bunia por parte de rebeldes ugandeses. Todo esto comporta una serie de sufrimientos, ya que muchos prófugos se han refugiado en nuestro convento.

in the Congo for the Carmelites
The Carmelites of the parish community of Nioka (in the Ituri region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo) began the year 2003 fleeing during the night from their ransacked house. The community is made up of Frs. Mario Cera, Fançois Alirac, and Guillaume Parug, who had been threatened with death by soldiers of the U.P.C. We received the news that the two native priests, Fançois and Guillaume, were allowed to return home accompanied by a delegate of the Bishop and the Civil Administrator of the region. They were welcomed back by the parishioners with great enthusiasm. One glimmer of hope is that the bishops in the eastern part of the country have united with the religious superiors to work out a common plan for peace in the area. The Prior Provincial of the Italian Province, Claudio Bellotti, asks for prayers for the community in Bunia, DRC, which is having difficulty with the occupation of the city of Bunia by the Ugandan rebels. This has brought about a number of problems, one of which is the large number of refugees that are now seeking safety in our monastery. 8/III/2003 |
