Commissaries Provincial
Delegates General
Prot. 150/2005
Rome, 18 April, 2005
Please find enclosed in this mailing copies of the Prior General’s report
to the General Congregation. Multiple copies have been mailed to each
province and commissariat to encourage discussion and debate amongst the
members. In about a month to six weeks, copies of the reports from the
members of the General Council will also be mailed.
This mailing also offers an opportunity to address some practical issues
regarding the Congregation.
-
Arrivals
are officially on Monday, 5 September. There will be transportation in
coach from the airport to the Casa Santa Fé, where the Congregation is
being held. Please let me know when and on which flight you will be
arriving, so that you can be met at the airport. If you intend to arrive
before 5 September and need accommodation, please let Fr. Antonio Silvio
know in good time. (His email is
freisilvio@hotmail.com)
-
Please also let me
know as soon as possible if you will be bringing a peritus.
Article
286 of the Constitutions governs this topic:
§2. Each Prior Provincial and each General Commissary may be accompanied
by one religious who is truly expert in those matters to be dealt with
at the Congregation, and who shall have the right to take part in the
meetings of the Congregation, but not the right to vote.

The
Centro Pastoral has a website at
www.pastoralsantafe.com.br which gives some idea of what the
location is like.

The
weather should be quite pleasant in September and not too hot. Indeed,
it might be advisable to bring a light jacket or sweater for the
evening. There will be a
chance to visit São Paulo on Saturday afternoon, when we will be meeting some of the local
Carmelite family, and on Sunday during our day out.
-
Departures are scheduled for Thursday 15 September and there will
transportation to the airport.
If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with me on
seggen@ocarm.org. Thank you.
Fraternally,
Kevin J. Alban O.Carm.
