	The book contains a series of talks given during the first three years of Fr. Joseph's ministry as Prior General. The individual chapters began as talks given at Provincial Chapters or regional meetings or other gatherings of the Carmelite Family. The goal of publishing them here for a wider audience is to increase our commitment to what God desires to do within us so that we may come to see all that happens as if with the eyes of God. Joseph Chalmers was elected the 94th Prior General of the Carmelite Order in 1995. Trained as a lawyer in his native Scotland, he specialized in Spirituality during his training at the Gregorian Pontifical University in Rome.
