Fr Gerald (Gerry) Hipwell della Provincia
Irlandese è deceduto improvvisamente l'8 maggio
2004. Membro della Comunità di Moate, Co. Westmeath,
aveva fatto la sua prima professione il 10 settembre 1965
ed era stato ordinato sacerdote l' 8 dicembre 1971.
Storico e sportivo eccellente ha dedicato la maggior parte
della sua vita di carmelitano all'insegnamento nella
Scuola Superiore e a lavorare con i giovani. Era in gita
con alcuni dei suoi pupilli della scuola di Moate quando è
morto. Gerry aveva 58 anni. I funerali sarano celebrati
nella Chiesa Carmelitana di Moate. Riposi in pace.

Father Gerald Hipwell (Gerry) of the Irish Province died
suddenly on May 8th 2004. He was a member of the
community in Moate, Co. Westmeath. He made his First
Profession on September 10th 1965 and was ordained
priest on December 8th 1971. A keen historian and
sportsman he dedicated most of his Carmelite life to
teaching at secondary level, school chaplaincy and
working with young people. He was on an expedition with
some of his pupils from Moate Community School when he
died. Gerry was aged 58 years. His Funeral Mass will be
celebrated in the Carmelite Church in Moate.
