     The book is divided into three major arguments. To begin with, it offers a re-reading of the apostolic exhortation "Vita Consecrata" on both the better dealt with themes and its weak points. In particular the biblical symbols used, the new cultural perspectives, and the spirituality of the texts are studied.
     In the second part, a further examination on some of the bible texts which inspired consecrated life are proposed, in particular, the calling of Abraham, the model of community in Jerusalem and in Antioch, and the theme of the charisms.
     Finally, in the third part, the ‘lay’ dimension of the consecrated life, of the problematic relations between movements and of the participation of the lay people in the charism of religious. Spanish and Portughese translations have already been requested. Published by Paoline. 370 pages.
