NECROLOGY


Innocenzo Lazzeri, O. Carm. (Ita)

Fr. Innocenzo Lazzeri, a member of the Italian Province, died on November 1, the Feast of All Saints. He was a member of the Pisa community. He was born on May 17, 1936 in Fanocchia (Lucca). He made his Simple Profession on September 12, 1954 and was ordained on July 2, 1961.


Kieran O’Hara, O. Carm. (PCM)

Fr. Kieran O’Hara, the oldest member of the Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary, died on November 5. He had lived for several years at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville, Illinois (USA).

Fr. Kieran was born on October 3, 1910. He made his first profession on August 15, 1931 and was ordained a priest on May 16, 1937.

After working in education, Fr. Kieran became the mission procurator for the PCM Province and then for the Congregation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Louisiana. He remained in Louisiana for many years until a stroke forced his retirement.

He was 93 years old.


María Asunción Orozco Rangel, O. Carm. (OSU)

On November 12, 2003, Sr. María Asunción Orozco Rangel, died at the Carmelite monastery of San Pedro in Osuna (Seville), Spain. She was 75 years old. She made her first profession on August 28, 1948.


Archangela Schrijver, O. Carm. (Zen)

Sr. Archangela (Theodora, Everdina) Schrijver, O. Carm., was born on October 2, 1918. She entered the Order on August 27, 1943 at the monastery of Carmelite nuns in Zenderen, The Netherlands and made her profession April 17, 1945.

Sr. Archangela died on November 5, 2003, in Huize Angeli Custodes, a nursing home for sisters, in Raalte.


Oldest Member of the Order
Ludger (Josef) Koschuda, O. Carm. (GerS)

The oldest member of the Carmelite Order, Fr. Ludger (Josef) Koschuda, died on November 16, 2003, in Bad Reichenhall, Germany. He was a member of the Upper German Province.

Fr. Ludger was born on February 11, 1906, in Duisberg-Ruhrort. He made his first profession on May 2, 1929 and was ordained a priest on July 23, 1933. In July 2003, he celebrated the 70th anniversary of his ordination.


Stefano Possanzini, O. Carm. (Ita)

  Fr. Stefano Possanzini, a member of the Italian Province and resident member of the Institutum Carmelitanum in at CISA in Rome, died shortly before midnight on December 13, 2003 after a long illness.

 Fr. Stefano was a former Provincial of the Tuscan Province and an Assistant General among many other services to the Order. Over the years he has been a member of the Institutum Carmelitanum, this last time since 1997, as a researcher.

He was born in Agugliano (Ancona), Italy on November 3, 1922 and made his first profession on August 8, 1940. He was ordained priest on December 1, 1946.


Jan Lebryk, O. Carm. (Pol)

Fr. Jan Lebryk died on December 12, 2003, following a severe heart attack at the Carmelite monastery in Lublin, Poland. He was born in Zwiernik on April 17, 1931 and ordained a priest on June 9, 1972. Fr. Jan worked as the chaplain for several years at the hospital in Lublin. He was buried in Pilzno, near his hometown.


Alberto Frappampina, O. Carm. (Neap)

Fr. Albert (Vito) Frappampina, of the Neapolitan Province, died at the Carmelite monastery in Caivano on January 3, 2004. He was born in Capurso (Bari) on November 28, 1926.


Eligius Bernbeck, O.Carm. (GerI)

Eligius Bernbeck, a member of the Lower German Province, died on Monday, January 5, 2004.

Fr. Eligius was born on December 1, 1929 in Mainz. He made his simple profession on May 13, 1956. After his philosophical studies in Boxmeer and his theology studies in Rome, he was ordained a priest on July 2, 1961.
