Electoral Chapter of the Monastery of the Encarnación (San Miguel) in Huesca, Spain The Carmelite monastery of the Encarnación (San Miguel) in Huesca, Spain held its electoral chapter on February 8, 2005. The diocesan Delegate for the Nuns, Antonio Broto Sopena, presided. The following were elected:
1st Chapter of the Philippine General Commissariat The members of the new General Commissariat of the Philippines came together on February 15-18, 2005 in order to hold their first Chapter of the Commissariat and to elect their leadership. Elected were:
The General Commissariat of the Philippines was erected by the General Council of the Order on May 28, 2004. The Prior General convoked the first chapter for February 14, 2005. Elective Chapter of the Lower German Province (GerI) The Elective Chapter of the Lower German Province (GerI) was celebrated from March 13-18, 2005 at the Carmelite house in Mainz, Germany. The Prior General presided and in his absence William J. Harry, the General Councilor for Northern Europe presided. Elected to serve the province were:
The newly elected Prior Provincial and the Provincial Council con-celebrated mass with the members of the Chapter at the evening Mass on March 17th in the cloister church in Mainz. Chapter of the Betica Province (Baet) The Provincial Chapter of the Carmelites of the Betica Province was celebrated Mach 21-23, 2005 in the diocesan retreat center of the Diocese of Cordoba. The Chapter was presided over by Joseph Chalmers, the Prior General of the Order. He was assisted by the General Councilor of the Mediterranean Region, Rafael Leiva Sánchez. Carm. - Councilor for Finances and Provincial Secretary Chapter of the Arago-Valentine Province The Chapter of the Arago-Valentine Province was held April 4-6, 2005. The meetings took place in "El Carmen," the Carmelite house of spirituality in Onda, (Castellón), Spain. Fr. Rafael Leiva Sánchez, General Councilor for the Mediterranean Region, presided at the Chapter. The theme for the meetings was "Open to the Future From the Reality of the Present" ("abiertos al futuro desde la realidad presente"). The following were elected at the Chapter:
